Operations Supervisor

Dorman Products is seeking an Operations Supervisor to supervise¬ and coordinates activities of contributors (employees) of multiple departments or even multiple shifts. We are a growing organization, moving into a brand new, state of the art facility in 2019, and are asking the leadership team to be flexible in its support.

Responsibilities and Duties/Essential Duties

  • Handle requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and reports of warehousing space available to develop schedule for material handling activities. Handles all activities in conjunction with the¬ supervisors and leads to meet daily business needs.

  • Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products.

  • Verifies or prepares records.

  • Will be well versed on the systems and use of the RF Device and can train and troubleshot all issues in the area

  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

  • Interprets job demands to workers, and assigns duties.

  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

  • Recommends measures to improve methods, equipment performance, inventory control, inbound and outbound processes, safety and quality to all subordinates for continuous improvement.

  • Ability to set a daily plan based on staffing levels and volume; Ability to manage all activities in the departments.

  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies.

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to support department goals.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate contributors to achieve work goals.

  • Present department goals and metrics weekly.

  • Maintains time and productivity records.

  • Ability to interview, hire and train contributors.

  • Coach, counsel and discipline subordinates who are not achieving department's minimum goals. Must have excellent communication and people skills and be willing to participate in improvement classes for these areas to maintain the Dorman culture.

  • Able to supervise Inbound and/or Outbound processes.

  • Inspects operations to ensure compliance to written procedures


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages contributors in the required departments.¬  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation.¬  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, budgeting departmental needs.

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or HS Diploma with¬ adequate related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Physical Requirements

  • Capability to lift 50 pounds. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. ¬ Noise level is usually moderate.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
